How We Raise the Standard.
We’ve heard the stories - neglected needs, a rotating roster of underpaid and burned-out carers, wait times that stretch on, and corners quietly cut even as standards are, supposedly, being lifted. The government’s proposed reforms - through initiatives like Support at Home - aim to change that. To lift the standard, improve transparency, and place older Australians at the centre of their care. And yet, implementation has been delayed again. Why? Because many providers simply aren’t ready. Their models were never built for this kind of work.
At Getting On, we take a different view.
We didn’t wait for a mandate to start doing things differently. Getting On was founded as a “be the change” response - born from our own experience watching people we love struggle through a system that wasn’t built for them. We knew care could be done differently. So we built a service that proves it.
We’re a private provider, unfettered by bureaucracy and box-ticking exercises that masquerade as quality. That doesn’t mean we cut corners. It means we cut through the noise. Our model is lean, responsive, and values-driven. We focus on what matters: trusted relationships, consistent care, and practical support that reflects each person’s life - not just their care plan.
We didn’t need legislation to tell us to treat our staff with respect. Or to value continuity of care. Or to build a service around trust, not volume. That’s been our approach from day one.
We’re small. Deliberately so. That scale gives us freedom: to know our clients, to support our team properly, and to deliver care with a level of attentiveness that larger systems struggle to replicate.
We know there are good people working hard in every part of the sector. But sometimes the structure itself gets in the way of delivering the care people truly deserve.
You don’t need to wait for reform to feel seen, heard, and supported. At Getting On, we’re already doing the work - quietly, carefully - in living rooms, gardens, and everyday routines.
Because aged care can be better. And we’re here to prove it.
